The 4th International Conference on Forensic Genetics
FORENSICA 2014 21st – 23rd May 2014
Praha, The Czech Republic

Dear Colleagues,

on behalf of the ČSSFG and conference organizers, it is my great honour to invite you to the 4th International Conference on Forensic Genetics „FORENSICA 2014", to be held in Praha, the Czech Republic, on May 21-23, 2014.

Both up-to-date theoretical and practical topics in the field of DNA use in the legal context (i.e. massive parallel sequencing, non-autosomal markers, DVI, interpretation framework, body fluid identification, personal data security, and crime scene on-site testing) will be addressed within the oral presentations and posters.

Renowned forensic genetics experts - in the alphabetical order: Kirsten, Bos, Relu Cocos, Leonor Gusmão, Walther Parson, Florina Raicu – will be holding the invited lectures while we are awaiting your contribution to scientific programme.

The conference venue, Břevnov Monastery is the Czech Republic’s oldest Benedictine (black monks) monastery, founded in 993. The present baroque building and the nearby Basilica of St Margaret were completed in 1720 by Christoph (Kryštof) Dientzenhofer. During the communist era, the monastery housed a secret-police archive. In 1993 (the 1000th anniversary of the monastery’s founding), the restored 1st floor, with its fine ceiling frescoes, and the Romanesque crypt, with the original foundations and a few skeletons, were opened to the public for the first time. Today, the area once again is a monastery of benedictines, but beautiful and truly unique spaces are also used for holding various meetings.

While detailed info is available at www.forensica2014.org, I remind important deadlines:

I am looking forward to meeting you in Praha for truly rewarding days!
